Shigemitsubaki puts us all to shame once again by not only making an amazing wall with a great color scheme but also records the whole thing on youtube to let you see how it was done!
I like the texture: it gives a sort of antique gloss to the picture, as if it was a delicate painting on an old parchment. However I can't flatten the feeling that the background is a bit too bare in comparison to the opulence of the girl's dress and jewels. I would have liked to see some floral ornaments (like the ones on the right side) in the left side too. They could have helped to give a bit of contrast effect and lessen the impression of flatness. One more thing (the last I swear!): I wouldn't have deleted the muzzle of that fantastic animal on the upper left. Nice work! (on Way to Mandalay )
Thank you very much for the comment, it's very appreciated! :) To my defense, that wall was done a long time ago and I've become a bit better with blending in the meantime. Now that I look at it again, I didn't spend as much time on it as I would normally spend on a wall, it was more of a "let's get this done or delete it, don't wanna have it around anymore" ^^" Anyway, thanks again for the feeedback, will keep it in mind for future works!
